Why are there so many requests for older appliances, parts, service and information?

Since the vintage appliance market continues to enjoy swift growth and popularity, everything attached to this field is or will soon be in demand. Parts, services, information, and entire appliances are all needed to fill the “secondary market”.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND SOURCES OR SOLUTIONS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT ANTIQUE STOVES OR APPLIANCE INTERESTS?

Since most of the equipment is at least a half-century old or more, the original manufacturer may no longer be in business or may not have anything relative to the appliance you own, wish to purchase, market or learn about.

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY MARKET?

The primary market is designated for new appliances, parts and service. Although the primary market intersects in some ways with the secondary market (vintage or obsolete), it is normally not a good place to start your search. Most new appliance manufacturers are only focused on selling new products or services.

ARE AUCTIONS A RELIABLE PLACE TO SELL OR BUY?

Auctions, on the net, are being utilized to buy or sell older appliances and parts. In a large number of purchases and sales, there have been problems “after the sale” that have brought old appliance lovers dreams to a screeching halt. Of all the e-mails, letters and calls we receive, the biggest problem appears to be purchasing from auctions. Here are two reasons why:

MANY BUYERS ARE NOVICES - Many novice buyers in the field of vintage appliances are not “armed” with the right questions to ask a seller before they bid. Also, during bidding, someone new to the world of old appliances can be easily outbid which can start a “bidding war”. This is dangerous situation to be trapped in.  (For more information and an excellent resource manual see

HOW TO LOCATE AND PURCHASE THE RIGHT VINTAGE STOVE at this link http://theoldapplianceclub.net/toac/howto.htm or obtain membership to The Old Appliance Club and receive free professional consultation here http://theoldapplianceclub.net/toac/club/about.htm. before you bid.)

SELLERS CAN BE NOVICES TOO - On the flip side, even if a seller is completely honest, they may not be aware that vital parts may be broken or missing from the unit. This will cause malfunction at the very least or if severe enough, in the case of an antique stove, you could be prohibited from using the range.

A TRUE LIFE EXAMPLE THAT IS NOT UNUSUAL:

We have personally heard from people that have spent over $4,000.00 for an older stove only to find out it failed inspection and was “red-tagged”. You will not be able to use the range unless it can be repaired or upgraded.  At that point a $4,000.00 stove has been transformed into a $4,000.00 plant stand.

WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD TO BUY OR SELL VINTAGE APPLIANCES, PARTS, SERVICE AND INFORMATION?

The powerhouse to connect to in the field of vintage appliances is The Old Appliance Club. This organization was created to address only vintage appliance interests. It doesn't matter what kind of antique or classic appliance, service, part or information you are seeking or wish to sell,  TOAC is the #1 global clearinghouse that is recognized as the main port of entry to the world of old appliances.

REASONS WHY RESULTS ARE BETTER THROUGH TOAC

While no one can guarantee that every single ad placed will be successful, we believe you have the best opportunity through The Old Appliance Club because our web site and magazine cater only to vintage appliance owners, restoration experts, sellers, buyers, rare parts houses, special libraries, rare information depositories, house dismantlers, restoration specialists, set designers, interior decorators, or architects to name a few.

Plus, we consistently market, market, market the club and site.

TO GET RESULTS DO THIS FIRST

Decide exactly what you need to buy or wish to sell. Write a clear, descriptive ad and take a good picture too. Don’t forget to include important details and as many ways as possible for people to contact you.

Your phone number and e-mail are very important.

LOWEST PRICE AND LONGEST LENGTH ADS

Classified ads in local papers are expensive and are referred to as “shotgun” ads –

you may hit something, but more than likely you will miss the target most of the time.

6 MONTHS COMBINED RUN - Because you might need more than less time to run your ad, you are allowed a generous 90 days in our magazine and 90 days on our web site or a combined run of 180 days (6 months total) to display your ad to thousands of people interested only in the field of vintage appliances.

MORE SPACE TOO - In addition, rarely is there enough space to fully “flesh out” an ad so you can never attract the greatest amount of attention. Most of the time, it’s just too cluttered and cost prohibitive.

Not so in The Old Appliance Club’s magazine The Old Road Home.

A business card size display ad, for instance, is just $49.00 (just $35.00 for TOAC members) and that includes room for a good picture and all the text you can place into the space. (Larger ads - up to a full page - are also available). This same price will also get your wanted or for sale ad posted on our web site.

3,000,000+ HITS PER MONTH ! - Our web site is currently drawing 3,000,000+ hits per month making it the largest footprint on the web specifically serving antique appliance interest.

DOUBLE BLOCKBUSTER BONUS
1.)     Placing your ad in both our specialized magazine and our web site, gives you the maximum exposure possible. Remember, The Old Road Home magazines are viewed and shared long after they are published.

2.)  FREE HELP - THE LAST AND BEST BONUS WITH EVERY AD - Once you place your ad, we will examine it and suggest the best way to edit and correct the ad copy so it is tight, concise and accurate. We will also check your picture, size it and place it in the ad for you at

no extra cost.

SIT BACK AND RELAX, EVERYTHING IS ON AUTOMATIC PILOT - You don’t have to run, call or chase down anything. Let your display ad do all the work for you. That’s it!

Just send your picture and ad text (text only ads available too) and payment or call us for more information.

REPEAT ADS AVAILABLE AT DISCOUNT RATE – If your appliance need is not filled by the end of the ad run on the web or in our magazine, we will run it again at a discounted rate, providing no changes are made.

NOW IS THE TIME TO PLACE YOUR AD. You’re just a phone call or e-mail away from connecting to the largest vintage appliance clearinghouse in the world – The Old Appliance Club! Call or e-mail today and place your ad.
